The idea behind Alder & Form

A thoughtful home.
A little more room to live.

Alder & Form is a fictional studio concept exploring a simple question: what makes a space feel right for the people who use it?

Our point of view

Begin with real life.

The best place to start is not a trend. It is the way a room is used: the morning coffee, the crowded dinner table, the corner that finally feels comfortable.

This concept combines a calm visual language with a practical design process. Furniture, layouts, and material choices work together, leaving space for personal objects and everyday change.

This is an independent portfolio concept. Alder & Form is not presented as an operating studio, and these illustrations are original design studies.

Three guiding principles

Good design makes
everyday sense.

01 / Practical beauty

Start with a purpose.

Every shape, shelf, and surface should support something useful in the way a room works.

02 / Material honesty

Let the material speak.

Grain, texture, and subtle variation add warmth without relying on unnecessary decoration.

03 / Personal fit

Leave room for you.

A home should feel considered rather than staged, with flexibility for changing routines and needs.

A place to begin

Good spaces start with a conversation.
